Custom Paver Walkway Installation

Southline Landscaping designs and installs custom paver walkways that improve accessibility, curb appeal, and outdoor functionality. Whether you're connecting a driveway to a front entrance, creating a garden path, or adding a backyard walkway, every installation is built with long-term durability in mind.

We focus on proper excavation, base preparation, compaction, and drainage to help ensure your walkway remains stable and attractive for years to come.

Site Evaluation & Planning

Every project begins with an on-site evaluation to determine the best layout, grade, drainage considerations, and material selections for your property.

We work with homeowners to create a walkway that complements the home while meeting practical needs for access and appearance.

Excavation & Base Preparation

A strong walkway starts below the surface.

We excavate the installation area to the appropriate depth and remove unsuitable soil as needed. Geotextile fabric may be installed to help separate the soil from the base material and improve long-term stability.

A compacted crusher run base is then installed in multiple lifts to create a solid foundation capable of supporting the finished walkway.

Sand Bedding Layer

After the base has been properly graded and compacted, a leveling layer of bedding sand is installed to create a smooth and consistent surface for paver placement.

This step helps ensure proper alignment and finished appearance.

Paver Installation

Pavers are carefully installed according to the selected pattern and design.

Common options include:

  • Running Bond

  • Herringbone

  • Basket Weave

  • Diamond Patterns

  • Soldier Course Borders

Each paver is placed and adjusted to maintain consistent spacing and alignment throughout the installation.

Edge Restraints & Finishing

Edge restraints are installed where necessary to help prevent movement and maintain the integrity of the walkway.

Joint materials such as polymeric sand or decorative stone may be used depending on the design and project requirements.

Final Compaction & Cleanup

Once installation is complete, the surface is compacted and inspected to ensure proper seating and stability.

The project area is cleaned and prepared for immediate use.
